Indenture made between Joseph C. Palmer and John C. Frémont : Alcatraz Island, 1856 November 7.

Palmer, born in Nantucket, Massachusetts, came to California in 1850. A personal friend of Frémont's, he managed the San Francisco banking firm of Palmer & Cook until it was closed in 1857. He died in Oakland, California.
